15 Pictures of Reunion Island's Beautiful Waterfalls

  • 04 September 2018 | By Natalie Roos

Reunion Island has been classified by UNESCO as a world heritage site, protected for its stunning natural wonders. In fact, almost half the island is protected as part of a nature preserve. Due to the island's breathtakingly steep cliffs and unique climate, you will find waterfalls cascading down hillsides, mountains and cliffs around just about every bend. Some of the island's most beautiful waterfalls are only visbile from the seat of a helicopter, but many are accessible for swimming and canyoning, or even just a picnic lunch. Here are 15 pictures of some of the island's beautiful waterfalls, captured by visitors and locals and shared on Instagram.
