Discovering secret Waterfalls on Reunion Island

  • 18 January 2016 | By Natalie Roos

One of the BEST things to do when visiting Reunion is to hunt down some of the island's secret and not-so-secret waterfalls. It's normally a sweaty walk, but the hike is worth it when you start to hear the crashing water. It's even more worth it when you can slip under the cold water and rinse off the hot walk.

Most locals have a favourite waterfall they'd be happy to direct you to, but the best way to find one would be to get a guide for the day. Reunion is home to hundreds of waterfalls, some over 200m high, so it's best to know which ones are best for swimming and which are just for photos.
