The team from Reunion Island hosted the best of travel media and local online influencers at one of Joburg’s hottest bars last week – the Living Room in the Maboneng Precinct, overlooking the city’s skyline.
Guests were blown away by the beautiful imagery from Reunion Island, and even more so by how accessible the island is to South Africans, requiring no visa and with very reasonable flight costs.
The current influencers' trip to Reunion Island – a group of South Africans are exploring what the island has to offer intrepid travellers – was also a hot topic of discussion.
Sumptuous appetisers were served on large platters, while a small taste of the island was presented in a refreshing rum cocktail. The island's French flair was rounded off with a lavish macaron platter paired with champagne.

Air Austral, which offers South Africans direct flights to Reunion Island from Johannesburg, gave everyone yet another reason to visit this French haven – the flight from Johannesburg to Reunion Island is only four hours and is available twice weekly; and the airline also hinted at upcoming flight specials to be announced soon!
