Reunion Island has been classified by UNESCO as a world heritage site, protected for its stunning natural wonders. In fact, almost half the island is protected as part of a nature preserve. Due to the island's breathtakingly steep cliffs and unique climate, you will find waterfalls cascading down hillsides, mountains and cliffs around just about every bend.
